Siquijor is often called the most beautiful island in the Philippines
Siquijor: The Island of Fire

People on the cute island are welcoming
The warm hospitality of the locals, the unspoilt, peaceful atmosphere and lack of traffic make the island a very special long-haul destination. Some parts of Siquijor are wonderful and covered with green mountains, the coastline is looking like a paradise.
How to get to Siquijor?

Getting there is a bit tedious, as it takes a few steps to fly to paradise. From London, Brussels or Frankfurt, for example, you can fly to Hong Kong or Singapore, then continue on to Cebu. An EU or Swiss passport allows you to stay for one month. From Cebu, you can take the ferry to Siquijor. This takes at least 20 hours, but the experiences on Siquijor make up for the effort.
Where to stay, where to go?
Five small towns are living proof of the island’s popularity: Siquijor as the port city and island capital, San Juan as a tourist hotspot, Lazi in the southeast, Maria in the east and Larena in the north as the second port city, and many small villages scattered across the island have a combined population of around 105,000.
A lot of tourists visit San Juan, others prefer the quiet north of Sandugan or Maria. But also Siquijor or Maria and Lazi find a lot of visitors. From the author’s point of view it makes sense to rent a motorbike or scooter and visit all sights of the lovely island of Siquijor. But attention: there is so much to see …

San Juan is the party and tourist center of Siquijor

San Juan, on Siquijor’s south-west coast, is the vibrant heart of the island. Here, travellers will find the most beautiful white sandy beaches, such as Paliton Beach, and a lively beach promenade with restaurants and bars. It is the perfect place to experience breathtaking sunsets and enjoy the island’s relaxed way of life.

Many restaurants, bars, a few nightclubs and numerous hotels, resorts and guesthouses guarantee a wonderful holiday for those who want to combine partying and beach life… From here, you can also explore the mountains on foot, by mountain bike or by motorbike/scooter.
